Coastal Guardians Outreach is located in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Coastal Guardians Outreach (CGO) is a South Texas based 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to public education and outreach. CGO is located in Nueces (nu-a-ses) County- -wikipedia on the Texas Gulf Coast.
In 2008, when Hurricane Ike struck the Houston / Galveston areas of Texas, Nueces County and the cities of Corpus Christi and Port Aransas received approximately $5M in damages caused by abnormally high tides; mostly to parks and recreational facilities. Sadly, one of the first fatalites attributed to Hurricane Ike happened north of a county park due to dangerously high tides and rip currents. Ike made landfall more than 200 miles north of Nueces County.
CGO works with non-profits, governmental agencies and departments, industry and private businesses to forge partnerships for the dissemination of life and property saving information to the public. If you or your business would like to join an ongoing partnership, or wish to start a new outreach, send us an email.
One of our goals is to provide information to the public about the dangers associated with hazardous weather, tropical storms and hurricanes and inland and coastal flooding. Future outreach programs will include earthquake and tsunami awareness.
